BPS Chair No. 140
Chair No. 140, a light and elegant chair with beautiful clean lines and timeless expression. The chair's characteristic backrest brings back nature and embraces today's modern life. The curved seat, which is crafted from multiple layers of veneer, appears to float above the legs and is ideal for upholstering. The seat can be upholstered in a variety of fabrics and leather and complements a variety of interiors and styles. The curved backrest is available in the following options: Hand-woven Cane, Hand-woven Danish Paper Cord or wood only. Chair No. 140 was designed in 1956 and taps into the essence of Danish Modern with its clean lines, functional design and expert craftsmanship. Every piece is made in Denmark and individually numbered on final assembly. Bernh. Pedersen & SΓΈn, a Danish furniture maker, has a long and strong tradition in furniture and cabinetmaking stretching all the way back to the companyβs start in 1902. Through three generations the family firm has created and sold classic Danish furniture to many parts of the world. The period 1950 - 1970 in particular was characterized by some of the most stunning and well-executed pieces in Bernh. Pedersen & SΓΈn's history. Especially the classic mid-century sideboards and daybeds designed by Danish furniture designers, including the Danish world-renowned Johannes Andersen, Svend Aage Madsen and Kurt Γstervig who were - and still are - highly valued by customers worldwide. In 2015, great-grandson Thomas Bernhard Pedersen reestablished the company and started focusing exclusively on relaunching some of the exquisite furniture designed in the 50βs and 60βs.
