Heightening Santa Cruz’s upscale style is a slim black steel support and legs accenting the solid Wheat bamboo side rails and footboard. Sustainable and earth friendly, Wheat is not a surface stain, the color is the result of an innovative process using heat, steam, and pressure to transform the solid bamboo material into light Wheat’s color. The Santa Cruz platform bed is designed for use with a mattress only, which is supported with a solid bamboo European slat system, eliminating the need for a box spring, and providing constant ventilation for your mattress. Started in 2004, this fantastic line of eco-friendly furniture focuses on building quality furniture using bamboo. Why bamboo? It's extremely environmentally friendly and because it's harvested from sustainable, fast growing forests. Plus, it looks gorgeous. Greenington utilizes the entire bamboo culm in the manufacturing process, wasting nothing. 100% of the bamboo material is used, including the sawdust, which is put to use generating steam for the dry kiln room and press machine. Greenington furniture is manufactured using only mature Moso bamboo at least 5 years old. This ensures maximum strength, hardness and stability for all our products.
