Our thermo ash is sourced from sustainably managed European forests (FSC® – FSC C153404) and is thermally treated at a temperature of 215°C without any addition of chemical substances. This treatment turns the color of the wood into a warm brown color and ensures an impressive durability. Over time wind and weather will give the thermo ash a grey patina. To keep or to regain the brown color, just sand the surface and treat it with an oil suitable for outdoor furniture. We recommend treating the thermo ash with oil on a regular basis.
The Bamboo has a hard surface but since it does not contain oil naturally, it becomes porous if left to dry out. We recommend treating the bamboo with oil specifically for outdoor furniture on a regular basis to help protect it from the elements.
Steel parts are powder coated with two layers; a primer and a top layer that is UV resistant and suitable for outdoor use. The surface treatment prevents rust, but if damaged rust will develop. Therefore, we recommend that scratches exposing the metal are repaired with repair lacquer.
